This part will be about Elvis Presley. Elvis has always been in my life because my mum is a big Elvis fan.
History of Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley was an American singer but later turned to a legend.
He released his first studio album in 1956 named 'Elvis Presley' before this CD came out he had made some singles. Later in 1956 he released his other CD 'Elvis'. Both CD's went gold.
In 1957 he released 2 CD's 'Loving You' and 'Elvis' Christmas Album'. The christmas album went 10 times platinum in the United States.
In 1958 he also released 2 CD's 'Elvis' Golden Records' which went 6 times platinum in the US and 'King Creole' which went gold in the US.
Elvis inducted in the army March 24th, 1958.
1959 was a busier year for Elvis, that year he released 3 CD's. 'For LP Fans Only', 'A Date With Elvis' and '50 000 000 Elvis Fans Can't be wrong'.
In 1960 he was back from the army and released 'Elvis is Back!'
Between 1960 and 1968 Elvis made movies of all the movies he released sountrack CD's.
In 1960 he released his first gospel CD named 'His Hand in Mine'.
In 1961 he released 'Something for Everyone' which got first place on the Billboard 200.
'Pot Luck' came out in 1962 and was ranked number 4 in the Billboard 2000.
In 1962 he released his 3rd golden record named 'Elvis' Golden Record Volume 3'
His 23rd CD 'Elvis for Everyone' came out in 1965.
In 1967 he released his second gospel CD named 'How Great Thou Art'
1968 'Elvis's Gold Records Volume 4' came out.
In 1968 'Elvic (NBC TV Special)' was released, this is the soundtrack of his '68 come back tour.
His 35th album 'From Elvis in Memphis' came out in 1969.
Also in 1968 came out 'From Memphis to Vegas/From Vegas to Memphis' and went gold.
In 1969 the CD 'Let's Be Friends' was released and went platinum.
In 1970 he released a compilation CD named 'Wolrdwide 50 Gold Award Hits Volume 1'. Later that year he also released 'Almost in Love'. At the end of 1970 he released 'That's the Way It Is'.
In 1971 Elvis was very busy, he released 4 CD's. 'Elvis Country' was his first country CD and sold over one millionn copies. In 1971 he also released a new gospel CD named 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. 'Love Letters from Elvis' was also released that year and went gold. At the end of the year he released another christmas CD 'Elvis Sings the Wonderful Words of Christmas'.
1972 was another busy year for Elvis with again 4 CD's coming out. The first one was 'Elvis Now'. The second was another gospel CD named 'He Touched Me' this was his last gospel CD. He also made a live album named 'Elvis: As Recorded at Madison Square Garden'. 'Burning Love and Hits From His Movies, Volume 2' was released at the end of the year.
Elvis continued having busy years with again 4 CD's in 1973. 'Seperate Ways' sold 3 million copies. 'Aloha from Hawaii: Via Satellite' was his second live album. In the summer of 1973 he released 'Elvis' and in the fall he released 'Raised on Rock/For Ol' Times Sake'.
In 1974 he released 3 CD's. At the beginning of the year 'Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 1' came out, 'Good Times' came out in March and in July his last live CD came out named 'Elvis: As Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis'.
In 1975 he released 2 CD's 'Promised Land' and 'Today' both CD's were in the top 40.
In 1976 he released 3 CD's 'Elvis: A Legendary Performer Volume 2', 'The Sun Sessions' and 'From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee'.
In 1977 'Welcome to My World' was released in March. The last CD he released was 'Moody Blue' which came out in July, just a month before the tragic August 16, the day Elvis died of a heart attack. Later that year 'Elvis in concert' came out.
After his death still a lot of Elvis CD's came out, but if I would sum up all of those too I'll still be writing next week.
